Welcome to my Blog – Have Fun, Make Memories, Make a Difference

The Joy of Missing Out!

Is it possible to exist without a tablet, computer or smartphone for a day, two days, a week, 2 weeks, perhaps a month? I’d like to, but what if I miss a Tweet, a Like, a Comment or even better, a new Follower; Oh my gosh, holy cow, a new Follower! So having said all that, I would have to say, No it‘s not possible! Or is it?

When people disconnect, they truly start to connect

When I wrote a chapter called “Living the Dream” in our best selling book called “Conversations that make a Difference”, yup you guessed it; it was all about “Conversations that make a Difference.” That’s why I was excited to come out and support my new friend Christina Crook who created something so awesome, who always expresses that real conversations will make a difference, and who wrote an awesome book, “The JOY of Missing Out: Finding Balance in a Wired World.

What does that mean – well first off, it means you need to buy the book and secondly, it means you need to buy the book! Of course, you can always call me and I’ll tell you everything I know! On second thought, naw, buy the book!

That night a short while back, it was a pleasure to be around so many amazing people who did not have a cell phone on them. Well, they did actually. We were just told to put them away in this crazy awesome BOX! Wow is all I can say about the experience that night; Real conversations, Real connections and a really good time! P1070126I’m not gonna lie; I did miss my cell phone for a few seconds and even heard it beep one time, but I was a trooper and kept it in the #JOMO Box (short for Joy of Missing Out) Wow, what has the world come to that we now rely so much on our technology!

Just the other day, my Mom and I were chatting on the phone about what life was like when I was growing up as a kid in Halifax, Nova Scotia without a cell phone and without Social Media. I can’t even believe that happened, but some of the memories I had were of always being around awesome people, playing tennis and golf without checking messages and needing to post pictures, meeting at each others houses, chasing girls and actually having conversations. Now I know we can have conversations over twitter, facebook, instagram, etc and we don’t have to bother actually hanging out, but wow what a different world we live in because of that. I do recall one experience where a cell phone could have come in handy though – I remember being chased down the street by some guys who were being mean, throwing rocks, etc. I guess it would have been cool for me to pull out my Samsung or whatever at the time and send out a tweet or a facebook message saying, “HELP!”

TheJoyOfMissingOutCover-HiResFriends, I want to publicly congratulate Christina Crook for her revolutionary idea and her Let’s Get back to Living Philosophy of just hanging out and having great conversations. The night she revealed her new book was great and the energy in the room was electric, not from our cell phones, but from the real conversations happening in the room the whole night. The coolest part for me was just before I put my cell phone in the #JOMO box and asking Christina if I could just send one more facebook message first LOL. Of course she said, “Nope”

Social Media can be overwhelming and can waste alot of your time and keep you disconnected if you don’t pay attention to this, and my recent experience with this BOX and the great conversations in the room that night taught me alot. At first, I thought it was kinda weird, but after understanding what the box was for, I realized that this idea was revolutionary and that we don’t actually need phones or facebook or twitter, etc to have real relationships with people.

Try it out; do what Christina did and go without for a month! It may be an enlightening experience for you. I’m slowly trying that and so far have been without for 2 hours – not a bad start!

If you would like to have a Conversation the Makes a Difference, make sure you say hello to Christina by CLICKING HERE to connect. Simply a spectacular person with a spectacular idea!

Inspiring ideas, Inspiring people

Life is really all about Having Fun, Making Memories and Living Life to the Fullest. But it’s also about Making a Difference and Learning new ways to do the same. Recently I had the opportunity to be in a room with so many passionate people with the goal of contributing to society and making our community even better. Sam Sullivan is an amazing person. I had the opportunity to meet and shake hands with him several times, as we shared a few laughs and a few amazing stories. He is a great guy wanting to do so much for this world and has dedicated himself to improving the quality of life for disabled people in North America.

7534.sam_sullivan_twirling_olympic_flag1As a former Mayor in Vancouver BC, he was awesome at connecting with people as he was always authentic with his smiles and wanting to make Vancouver all that it could be. I definitely followed his career, and my fondest memory was when he led the troops and raised the Canadian Flag in Turin to lead Canada in bringing the amazing 2010 Paralympic Experience to Vancouver.

As I am on the same mission, Sam is all about Making a Difference. Sam Sullivan’s “Public Salon” is about putting together a community of great people with a variety of backgrounds, talents and skills to unite in the common goal of as I said above, making the community even better. I was fortunate to be able to attend this awesome event at the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre recently with so many amazing people eager to see what was happening  and how they could contribute to this world being a better place. Thanks to my friend Alice Zhou  for helping to promote this Epic event.

The night was filled with great speakers, and of course the equally amazing entertainment brought to us by the Four on the Floor String Quartet. The Public Salon is a wonderful place to get inspiring ideas and to know more about some outstanding citizens and what they are doing to Make a Difference. Thanks once again to Sam Sullivan for this awesome event that is meant to motivate and inspire action. To find out more about the Public Salon and of course more upcoming events, CLICK HERE

Awesome “We Day” Van. 2014

We Day Inspires in Vancouver and around the World!

I had the privilege of being a volunteer for one of the most amazing Change the World organizations once again recently in Vancouver, BC. I have been fortunate to be part of this for the 4th year in a row and I’m always excited to be amongst the children and to know more about what they are going to do as an agent of change in this world. We Day not only makes a difference in the lives of many children, but impacts all those who volunteer. I can attest to that and how many people are inspired to continue making a difference.

In Vancouver recently, there were 20 thousand high school students in attendance in addition to a couple hundred thousand who have and will be participating in 13 cities in 3 countries. The students do not pay to attend although I’m sure they would. They earn their tickets through volunteering and this is a day where they are deservedly recognized for their amazing efforts. The bottomline is this is an organization that has and will continue to inspire millions to make a difference and I’m thrilled to be a small part of that. People always say, “But you’re just one person” – I think we need to ask Marc and Craig Kielburger if one person can make a movement like this happen! Click on the links below my pictures to learn more about We Day, Me to We, and Free the Children.

The impact since 2007: Over 2.5 million young people from around the world take part in life changing programs and campaigns to make a difference, $45 million raised for more than 1,000 local and global causes, 14.6 million hours volunteered for local and global causes, 5.6 million lbs of food collected for local food banks, and 8.9 million hours of silence logged for those who are denied their rights.

Live, Love, Do just a little bit More!

Live, Love, Do just a little bit More!

Sometimes you have moments in life that reminds you of Who you are, your Greatness and Your Power of Best – we all have great memories, and quite often forget what they are, Here’s an amazing experience that reminds us of the impact we will have on others when we just pay attention to what the world needs – just a little more love!

The other day as I was surfing Facebook, I ended up with the most powerful conversation with one of my favorite students from over 20 years ago in Thompson, Manitoba. We were chatting about life, and a question that popped up that I often ask people is, “What was your favorite memory in Grade 4 – without hesitation, she said, “It was when you decided that we were going to be pen pals with your mom” – I needed to know more, so we used some of my air miles and took a trip down memory lane – It wasn’t long before we shared a tear which made me reflect upon why I made that move and at that time. We shared a laugh, and this experience was one of the coolest and Happiest Memories ever!

My Mom had a major accident back then and was not in good spirits – my students were sad because one of our students was very sick in the hospital – at that time, we were doing something else, but I looked around the room and felt like switching it up, doing something pretty creative for my awesome Mom and my Students at the same time!

I said, “Kids, Ok, I want you write a letter and ask my Mom anything you want about me – and be nice!” Seeing the smiles and curiosity on their faces was enough to know this was going to be huge – little did I know that it would be a memory that stood out in at least one of my kids hearts! They were pumped and wrote everything from “Hi to what was Mr. Wong like as a kid – was he bad?” Wow that was a fun 2 days, because after they were all done with pictures, letters, small gifts, etc, we put them in an envelope, mailed them to my mom and within three days, she called me in tears with the 32 awesome letters. She read every one of them and responded with a personal letter to each kid. I can remember that day handing out the letters they didn’t expect to receive, and watching my kids smiling, laughing and sharing the stories all day long. Of course, I wasn’t too thrilled that she shared my frequent detention visits and some other stuff including my marks, but hey I forgave her cause she’s my Mom lol. I also remember the kids wanting to develop a very cool wall mural with all the letters – well let me tell you, that was the beginning of something very special as each one them formed a relationship with my mom, and they were pen pals even long after they moved to the next grade.

What I get from this experience is Pure Magic – what you may think as just a cool thing to do may mean the world to someone else – In addition to enjoying life, I encourage everyone to get out there, pay attention to what is happening around you, Love a little more, Live a little more and Do just a little bit more!

The Great “PosAbilities” where anything is Possible

Anything is Possible at “PosAbilities”

Recently I had the opportunity to experience an organization I had never heard of before. On the invitation of a friend, I met an incredible woman named Monique who shared the vision of this company and invited me out to a Gala opening event to meet some of the artists and the organizers of this company. This event was called the “Inclusion Art Show” and was in a word, “Amazing”

The food was amazing, the music was great, but most importantly, the people were shining with light and talent. The artwork blew me away and it was so inspiring speaking with and sharing a laugh with alot of the artists.

This excerpt from their website – check them out!

Creating an inclusive community

We are committed to building and participating in a community where all persons are welcomed and where all members are valued for who they are and for the contributions they make. This is the vision of an inclusive community — a place characterized by diversity, hospitality, belonging and respect. Persons with developmental disabilities have historically been excluded from our society and segregated into institutions. This has weakened our communities because it has deprived us of the richness of their perspectives and abilities. It has also deprived us of the beauty of their friendship. Inclusion creates a better, stronger and safer community.

We are also committed to persons with disabilities having and exercising the same rights to self-determination as other citizens. To be self-determining means that one has control over one’s life and future—and this includes the right to make decisions about where one lives and how one lives. This is essential to self-esteem, meaning and hope. This is essential to quality of life.

Our services are guided by a set of core values that describe how we work with persons served, families, community partners and each other. They are a part of all that we do, and a reminder of the “heart” that is in our work. A strong set of values ensures that our organization can continue to evolve with the changing needs of our persons-served.

Special shout out to Inclusion BC, a great provincial non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the participation of people with developmental disabilities in all aspects of community life. It was a pleasure meeting the leaders of this organization as well.

Bottomline, an amazing organization and an amazing group of people leading the charge. Visit their website here, learn more about the “Pos Abilities” and join me in supporting the cause!

Great Memories will last a Lifetime!

This has been a great summer, filled with fun, adventure and most importantly to me, great quality time spent with friends and family! My passion always will be about Having Fun, Creating Memories and Living Life to the Fullest. The truth is that Life is Short and it is important to follow your heart, do what you want and find ways to “Live your Dreams” I don’t know what that is for you, but for me, it’s to spread joy and happiness to this world and make memories with those that mean the most to me. Life can be one great adventure. Why not make yours one where you can look back and say, “I made that happen and had the time of my life!”

Recently, I had the pleasure and opportunity to take my mother on a trip of a lifetime to Denmark, Norway and Sweden. This my friends was the greatest trip ever with one great Mom! We talked about our amazing trip to St. Lucia we had 11 years ago and still remember that as one of the greatest memories ever. This past Christmas we decided to do it again in a big way – here’s a brief on our trip!

favvikingThis trip this summer was awesome. and we even found a way to have fun with the teeny rooms, the two single beds stuck together and the huge price tag on food. It was pretty awesome that ice water was only 3 bucks LOL. We managed and even though uncomfortable at first, we just followed suit with everyone else and gently snuck some buffet breakfast items into Mom’s purse – since I have always listened to my mom, I knew I had to listen to her again.

We spent time in Denmark (pic. to the left), cruised through the awesome Fjords of Norway, and practiced the very cool Swedish language in Sweden. Did you know that “Good Morgon” is Good Morning in Swedish, but when they say it, it sounds like “Good Moron” – we had fun with that one! There’s something cool about having a cool Mom, and man was she ever cool on this trip. I don’t think there was a picture she didn’t agree to be in, which was awesome, except for the one in the snow – she was kinda pissed!

I am always excited to share some great pictures of this trip that you can check out by clicking here on my Flickr Page. If you feel inspired to visit this magical land of fun and adventure, I can certainly be your travel guide for this one – Trust me, some of the tips
I will give you will be of super value.

Tip #1 – bring lots and lots of money!

Tip #2 – go there with an open mind and be open to the fun and spontaneity that this adventure will bring.

For me as I said above, the most important thing in life is spending time with family and friends, Having Fun, Making Memories and Living Life to the Fullest! This picture to the right is us leaving back to Canada. As you can see, my mom had a great time, which was and is one of my ultimate goals in life!

To change the world, you must change someone else’s world, and if you can make a difference in one person’s life, you’re well on your way to changing your own. So take the opportunity to create an opportunity like this one and remember to Have Fun, Make Memories and Live Life to the Fullest!

Family shot just after this trip – awesome!

Live Life Now – Golf Anyone?

Golf is an easy game right? I mean how hard could it be – swinging a stick and hitting a tiny little ball into a hole. Well I’ve been golfing for well over 35 years and quite frankly, I still suck! No worries because I love the outdoors, I love the laughter with friends and most importantly, I really really love consistently shooting in the mid 90’s. I also get sooo pumped up when I occasionally shoot over 100. I can remember so many times telling my so-called better golfer friends that 100 is a great score because the more shots, the more value you get and the cost of the round goes way down!

I’ve never never done more praying in my life than on a Golf course – a peaceful way to get away and talk to God on every single hole – O God, Why God, Oh No God, Help me God, Please God, if you just let me sink this putt God, etc etc, etc. It’s a place that you can obviously be one with the universe LOL.

Having Fun, Making Memories, Living Life to the Fullest! Where does the game of Golf fit in here for me? All 3 of them for sure, although I kinda would love to ERASE many of the rounds from my memory. I’m just kidding of course, as every time you are doing something you love, then you are Living Life to the Fullest! What does Living Life to the Fullest mean to you? It really is all about discovering what turns you on in life and getting out there and doing it. For me, Golf is way up there on my list of beautiful things to do and I’m passionate about finding people to do it with. Of course, I’m not too excited to play with all these hotshots, but as in this picture here, I am interested in playing Golf with a 3-year old though – I might even win this time! riannegolfThis is a great shot of little Rianne, my great friend Ricky and Anne’s daughter who is also excited to take a lesson. This was the shot of the day, as she is a little upset at my friend Paul Nijar and is saying, “Paul, could you please stop tweeting, come over here and teach me what you promised right now!”

So now you know Golf is a great game and a heck of alot of fun. Having said that, it’s finally donned on me after all these years that why not take a Golf lesson or 20 and find someone who has the patience, the passion, and the love for the game who will show you all the things you are doing wrong and help to make them right!

Enter my new and awesome friend Rahim Gulam, who put it out there to me, our friends and the YVR Bloggers that he is a great Golf Coach, and he was right! We had a great day of learning and fun and the one on one individual attention that everyone deserves. And I discovered that if you Love Golf as much as I do, you should actually take a lesson!

Rahim Gulam is a PGTAA Golf Teaching Professional ( Professional Golf Teachers Association of America) and teaches out of two facilities, one in Richmond at an outdoor facility and one in Port Moody in an indoor facility.

golfacademyGreat Day, Great Friends, Great Kids, Great Lessons; what could be better than that! This is a shot of me, Balraj and Paul. In Golf, it is always important to have a pre-shot Selfie Routine which is always a crucial and important part of the pre-game routine – right coach Rahim?

This day was honestly a treat and a half starting off with hanging out with my buddies and for the first time ever, rocking a golf lesson with my great friends.

**If you would like to know more about the game of Golf; if you are a newbie with a not so graceful swing like me that worries on every shot that you might hit someone on the head even if they are beside you; if you are a seasoned golfer that simply needs a slight tweak to your swing, then my greatest suggestion is to search out someone like Rahim, or better yet, search for Rahim!

Monster Fun at Monster Jam 2015

Why do you love Monster Trucks? That was my awesome question for two kids who were sitting in front of me while my friend and I were setting up our camera’s for some EPIC Monster Truck shots! His answer: “They’re big, so cool and they go fast. I want to be a Monster Truck Driver!” Well to be honest, even at my slightly older age, I’m even thinking about being a Monster Truck Driver. I do remember my Mom always saying I was a Monster, so maybe she knew something! But seriously folks, that did happen, those kids were smiling and jumping for joy all night, and this experience was exactly why I enjoy being a part of and supporting any event that can inspire people to a happier life.

My passion has always been to Make a Difference, Have Fun and Live Life to the Fullest, so it absolutely makes sense to support and throw some Love to those who are doing the same. Recently I had the opportunity to once again be part of Monster Jam Vancouver and understand why this is such a popular attraction for kids and adults of all ages. Mkidtruckonster Jam was a heck of an experience and wasn’t just about loud noises, huge trucks, big crashes, crazy flips, demolition cars, etc; It was about massive fun and adventure for the entire family. It was amazing to see so many people rocking out to a great show while capturing wicked images with my photographer Justin on the day. We captured some great images as you can see.

I can easily sit here, post a few pictures, write some great content about all the crazy flips, jumps, turns and downright ridiculous high flying moves, and YUP I sure will, but what really excites me is finding out about how something or someone is making a big difference in the lives of others. In this case, talking about what Monster Trucks means to the little ones. There were literally thousands of young kids smiling, screaming, of course covering their ears, and jumping up and down upon seeing their favourite stars shining brightly in the air, mostly upside down, at BC Place stadium.

kidwin

In fact, here’s one of many great stories of what the Monster Truck team did to support others, and how they are doing their part to make a difference for their fans all over the world.

Just a short while ago, The Maple Leaf Monster Jam team partnered with the Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring Big Trucks and Big Dreams to the Desa Family. Little Jayden Desa received a special Monster Jam bedroom makeover from his favourite Monster Jam drivers.

CLICK HERE to read this awesome story.

Having said all that, this was also a special night with so many special moments. Even Legendary Monster Jam Royalty, Tom Meents, (here in the picture) and driver of Max D, managed to thrill the many children in the audience with his end of the night jaunt into the crowd. MacD I am going to ask for forgiveness right now for jumping in front of a million kids for this shot, but I just had to do it before my photographer took off for the night. Who wouldn’t want a shot of the 11-time World Champion driver of Max D.

For those of you who do not know what Monster Jam is all about, it is one of the most popular touring family entertainment sporting events in the world reaching more than 135 cities around the globe and over 350 performances per year. Monster Jam is a high flying, car crushing, explosive event of demolition, speed, power and unbelievable stunts with the world’s best Monster Trucks and drivers whose skills are an awesome spectacle of “rock-and roar” that will bring fans to their feet cheering for more!

Nobanditw that should be enough to get you out there with your family to check them out! I promise you will not be disappointed by all this amazing fun, craziness and adventure. You can always find out more about Monster Jam by visiting their site  RIGHT HERE.

Speaking of Crazy stuff, here’s a few pictures from my photographer who was there with me who just happened to capture the very best moments of the night! Cars exploding, trucks flipping over, fire all over the place, kids and adults screaming. What could be better than that!

Here are our favourite, coolest and craziest pictures of the night!

Adventure – Roller Derby Rocks!

As always, I love to Have Fun, Make Memories and Live Life to the Fullest! And because of this, I tend to stumble across experiences and opportunities that enlighten me to a world that offers so many unique and exciting adventures. Roller Derby, who knew this would fire me up, not just to tell you about it, but also to strap on a pair a skates, and  give this thing a try.

It was a great weekend I just experienced at the Cloverdale Arena in BC. I was invited to attend by my good friend Justin from JR Media Group to see, hear and experience Roller Derby for the first time in my life! It was fun, awesome, exhilarating as I found myself often yelling, “Hit her, knock her down” and so many other phrases of kindness LOL. The Anarchy Angels invited us to the event to see what we thought, and in a word, 3 words actually, “we loved it!” Not only was it fun and exciting, but the team did amazing in the tournament, with my highlight being a final brawling and exciting match against the #2 team in Canada and #18 in the world, the “Terminal City Roller Girls” The Anarchy Angels were awesome and not only held their own, but also had the crowd rockin the whole time, and although they lost the match, they can certainly hold their heads up high big time!

Yeah, when I was in high school, I did watch roller derby on TV and always thought I would be a great Jammer – A Jammer is the one who is pretty much like the Rugby player with the ball who’s job is to break through the pack and score as many points as you can – there are many video’s on the rules, so check them out! I did visualize me being a champion in this sport, but now having seen what these gals do and what this sport can offer, there seems to be plenty of opportunity to get involved.

This picture on the right is me with Sgt. Skittles who simply says, “Get your butts out here and try this sport”

I must admit, I was a little disappointed when I walked in that the track did not have banks and railings where you could push someone over the edge and they would fly into the crowd, but i quickly got over it when I saw all the gals coming in and getting ready for action. Everything from the warming up, to the mock scrimmages around the fast track, to the cheers, and to the songs and anthems was just great! Speaking of the track, solid concrete. I found that out as I saw a couple of the gals come crashing down on their butts – ouch!

Apparently, Roller Derby is a quickly rising sport all around the world, in fact, one gal I was talking with mentioned that they are trying to get Roller Derby into the Olympics – that would be killer! All in all, I was very impressed by the team, the comraderie amongst everyone, the friendliness of all the competitors and also for me, the kindness to those who were able to teach me a few things about the game. I did ask a few stupid questions too like, “Why can’t you elbow someone in the face”

All in all, an amazing introduction to this sport which I enjoy and will check out much more; I hope they see me coming and give me that nudge to strap on some skates and join them in kicking some butt as well LOL.

You can check them out here on Facebook

and on their website at: Anarchy Angels

In addition to Making a Difference and Changing the World, I love Having Fun, Making Memories and Living Life to the Fullest. Having Balance is such a key ingredient to a happy life, so whenever you get a chance, create that by doing things that make you smile and enjoy life!

This week I was fortunate to be able to visit Splashdown for an adventure of a lifetime with some amazing friends and fellow Bloggers. The weather has been amazing and HOT in Vancouver this summer and I can’t think of anything better than water, water and more water! Splashdown Park proved to be one of my favorite highlights of the summer, not only because of the 13 crazy, exciting and amazing slides, but also because of the warmth and hospitality of the entire staff. They did a great job hosting our event and making sure everyone was safe and had fun.

I actually do remember visiting Splashdown Park about 12 years ag0 with a couple friends, but this day was extremely special because there were over 80 of us who had the time of our lives! I think I was scared and cried back then, but can’t exactly recall that experience; I just know that it was a blast and one of the highlights of that summer!

The layout of this place is amazing. They have many different picnic areas, tents for groups, a volleyball and basketball recreation area, a great refreshment and ice-cream parlor, and so much more! We started the day with 85 of our YVR Blogger group, mostly awesome kids with waterwings saying, “Can I go into the water now!”As a group, we all spent about 4 hours frolicking in the water and connecting
with old and new friends. kidsplash2A shout out to Becky Farley for these great pics in the great tunnel of water – awesome!

This is a place I highly recommend for a day full of fun, friendships and relaxation. Speaking of recommendations, when you have a ton of moms telling you that you need to wear sunscreen, just listen to them ok and don’t do the Lobster routine that I’m still currently experiencing. I remember telling a few of them that “this Chinese Newfie don’t burn” – I was Wong!

Yes this day was amazing, which started with an opening meet and greet with Harold Fredericks, the awesome manager of Splashdown Park. He was around all day to say hello and inspire us with his recommendations. We all scattered as soon as we heard “GO” and as I said above, the rest of the day was about fun, connecting and having the time of our lives. Check the cool Short Video I produced to share some of my favorite highlights, but just for the record, I do want you all to know that I did not “Pee in the Pool”

Great Adventure, Bard on the Beach

As always, it’s important to Have Fun, Make Memories and Live Life to the Fullest. A bunch of us did just that and more and had a great experience and in my opinion, another Memory that will last a lifetime! Life is so precious and when you have an opportunity to get together, to experience life together and to simple just create your own adventures, then don’t hesitate!

It’s been years since I attended a show at Bard on the Beach, but what an opportunity a few of us from YVRBloggers had the other night! This is the 25th year of the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival and what an amazing lineup of shows to check out! This place was packed and the show, well let’s just say I’ve never been to a show where everyone was so happy giggling, laughing and having such a good time from beginning to end.

Midsummer Night’s Dream was in a word fantastic!! And literally one of the funniest things I had seen in a long time, since the day I dropped my car keys down the hole in an outhouse one summer (a shitty story perhaps to be told or written into a Shakespeare play one day)

I’m really happy that most of us watched a video or read about the plot first because as I looked around the room, there were many people that had that “what just happened, what did she say or duh” look on their faces. I could tell they finally got it, but I’m sure they are at home right now saying, “Can you explain that to me again”

For me though and the rest of our crew, we were in stitches the whole night. As a group of friends and bloggers, it’s very cool to re-hash the great BC adventures that we have been on and share great things with our readers.

I was also blown away by the costumes and the amazing acting skills by everyone in the cast. I highly recommend checking this show out and of course every single Bard on the Beach event. Get more info. about Bard and on ticket prices and all event information at: Bard on the Beach

Here’s a Brief from their website:

Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival was established in 1990 with a mandate to provide Vancouver residents and tourists with affordable, accessible Shakespearean productions of the finest quality. A fully professional, not-for-profit theatre company, Bard on the Beach now engages thirty actors each season as well as a team of exceptional directors, designers, and technicians; it is also supported by more than 200 volunteers. The productions consistently receive both critical and audience acclaim and repeatedly play to sold out houses.

Midsummer Night’s Dream runs until September 20th – make sure you check them out.

And as a bonus, what a pleasure meeting Christopher Gaze, Artistic Director and Founder of Bard on the Beach. His story of love and persistence for his dream was nothing short of an inspiration to us all.
